Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets for the Shelby Mustang GT 350R Sweepstakes. Though, we did not make our goal in order to award the car, the winner and the Desert Cancer Foundation will split a tidy sum of cash.

Allen Grant and the entire Palm Springs Cruisin’ Association Team congratulate the winner and thank everyone for their support of the Desert Cancer Foundation.

Despite the 2021 Dr. George Charity Car Show being cancelled due to the pandemic, the Palm Springs Cruisin’ Association was able to make a $15,000 donation to the Desert Cancer Foundation. Many thanks to all those who donated their prepaid entry fee rather than getting a refund, and also to our show sponsors who donated their sponsorship fees.

Numerous club members met in the Ralph’s Parking lot in Indian Wells to collect toy, food and monetary donations for the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission. A caravan of twenty vehicles cruised to the CVRM facility in Indio to drop off the donations.

As anyone who has worked in the Club trailer would know, it has been many years since it was cleaned out and rearranged. Thanks to Diana and Bill Finnegan, Angel Hernandez, George Dray, Erik & Belva Baltzar, Ross McMullin and Craig Korthase, that job was finally accomplished in the air conditioned comfort of Dave and Sunny Hancock’s shop at GarageTown. All of the boxes were removed and the inside was completely vacuumed. After a thorough inspection and inventory, necessary supplies and equipment were reloaded and labeled. Several broken and/or unnecessary items were chucked or set out for donation to a charity. We now have lots of space and clean equipment. Some new tables will be purchased before the season begins to replace the broken ones. We think it will be much easier to find what you are looking for and know that it is much cleaner and better organized now. Thanks to the team that worked hard to accomplish all of this. Great Job!!

On Father’s Day some of our club members arranged a drive-by car show for the residents of Atria Assisted Living in Palm Desert.

The Annual Dr. George Charity Car Show took place on February 8, 2020 under sunny skies, our biggest and best attended show ever. Over 1000 vehicles were on display and several thousand spectators showed up to check out the cool rides.

As a result of the show, we were very happy to present the Desert Cancer Foundation with a gift of $120,000! This means there will be over $1 million dollars in new cancer care available to our neighbors and friends in the Desert!
